LumBearJack Work Weekend 2018

This is a fun weekend. Stay in the comfortable and warm bunkhouse or the Departure Lounge.

It's a great time as we put AmberFox to rest for the winter. One more time to gather on the Land.

We will fall a few trees, buck up
some firewood, party together and the Know Talent show will rock on Saturday. Rd

This gathering is different as we will also have meat on the menu. We won't forget vegetarians and vegans. We can be sure to have what you need and want.

This weekend has no purse. There's no cost except to make it here. Hope to have y'all join us.

Note the date change! November 2-4.

A Very Faerie October in Ontario

It's a very Faerie October this year, with not just the one, but TWO Faerie gatherings happening in Ontario this month!

As well as the traditional Thanksgiving Gathering for gay & queer men October 5 - 8, on the Land aka Amber Fox, in eastern Ontario, there will be an all-gender Samhain Gathering October 18 - 21, at Fox's Haven, north of Georgian Bay.

Thanksgiving Gathering

Friday, October 5 at 2pm to Monday, October 8 at 2pm
on The Land aka Amber Fox

Imagine the Land in Technicolor! Seventy-five acres of rolling hills and valleys, painted with the brilliant fall colours of maple, larch, oak and elm. All that is missing is you.

For those who have been to a gathering on the Land aka Amber Fox before, you will know what to expect:

  • crisp autumn days
  • Saturday night's Know Talent Show
  • communal vegetarian meals, with a Thanksgiving feast on the Sunday
  • saunas
  • bonfires
  • heart circles
  • dressing up at the Foxy Boutique
  • magick & ritual
  • working in fellowship with your fae kin
  • partying in the Departure Lounge
  • trip to the market
  • anything the fae heart can imagine!

There is plenty of room for tenting along the Path of the Snake and in the May Pole field. There is also room for some to sleep in the Bunkhouse (though this is on a first-come first-served basis and space is limited). Make sure you bring a warm sleeping bag or plenty of blankets! If the weather is very cold, the Departure Lounge and even the sauna can become snuggly sleeping quarters.

Remember, there are no paid staff here. Everything that manifests depends on faerie volunteer energy, and contributions to the purse: the suggested contribution is $25 per night, more if you can or less if you can't, and no one is turned away for lack of funds.

This event is for gay and queer men.

If you are a member of our Facebook Group, you can RSVP to the Facebook Event. Otherwise, please email to obtain directions and contact information.

Foxy Faeries Samhain Gathering

Thursday, October 18 at 4pm to Sunday, October 21 at 4pm
at Fox's Haven, near Lake Nipissing

The leaves are falling, the harvest is done.
Samhain arrives with the setting sun.
The bonfire is lit and offerings ready.
The smell of the smoke makes us feel heady.

“Faeries and spirits, one and all,
We ask you now to hear our call.”
One by one, the Fae arrive
And soon the party begins to come alive.

Singing and dancing, stories and boasts,
Interspersed with many ghosts.
As the fires burn out
We all at once shout,
“Happy Samhain this year
To all Foxy Faeries far and near”

Samhain is one of the four great seasonal festivals of the pagan calendar year. It marks the end of the harvest season and the coming of winter.

It is traditionally a time for feasts, friends, festivities, meetings, and a gathering of the clan.

It is also a time that the doorways to the other worlds open, allowing magical beings and spirits to play.

In other words, it is the perfect time for us Fae folk to get together for a fabulous and wonderful gathering!!

How will the Fae Folk celebrate Samhain?

Come JOIN US and help decide!

The Foxy Faeries are a kink-friendly group of Radical Faeries in northern Ontario. Foxy Faeries Gatherings take place at a secluded campground near Lake Nipissing, and foster a kink-positive, nudity-positive, sex-positive space. Foxy Faeries events are open to all those of fae heart, the fae-allied and the fae-curious, regardless of gender or orientation.

High Summer Gathering 2018

The Land aka Amber Fox
is pleased to host

the first ever meeting of the
United Federation of Planets
and the
League of Super Heroes

at our annual
High Summer Gathering

Wednesday August 1st at 2pm to Monday August 6th at 2pm
on
The Land aka Amber Fox

WooHoo! And YooHoo! It's summer, and the fae folk have to get out and party, play and perambulate back to the Land. Bring yourself out to rejuvenate, carry on, say hello to old friends and meet new ones. Bring your magick, fae glam, and outer space energy.

What have we got planned for this year's High Summer? We're so glad you asked!!!

Wednesday - Welcome Wayward Wanderers
Whether you've just transported down, or flown in from Krypton, we know you'll be tired and hungry when you arrive. So we will have a feast of epic proportions prepared for your arrival!
The meals at Amber Fox are vegetarian, communal and delicious. We have a fully appointed kitchen in the Erection, and are always looking for chefs, assistants, and learners. So whether you want to plan a whole meal, create a single dish, or help chop ingredients, we've got you covered!

Thursday - Super Heroes and Their Admirers
Tea Dance in the Erection
Everyone has some sort of super power. Let your super power freak flag fly! Come in your secret super hero outfit, wear your super secret hero disguise, or come ready to save the world for Truth, Justice and the Fae Way!

Friday - United Federation of Planets Investigation into the Freaky Fetishy Fae Folk of this Planet
(and Dance Party in the Departure Lounge)
High-level trade negotiations are taking place! See alien visitors in the midst of lewd alien acts! It's weird, it's strange, and it's ALIEN!

Saturday - Know Talent Show
Saturday night we will enjoy the many talents the Fae folk bring to the Know Talent Show. Can you sing, dance, recite a poem or play an instrument? Or do you have a flair for performance art? If so, we would love to have you join us on stage! A bit shy but want to try? Talk to the show's organizers and they will be sure to find a suitable role for you. More of a watcher than a performer? An appreciative audience is the other essential ingredient for this ever-popular event!

Sunday - High Tea
Picture yourself in a warm forest glade, with colourful silks hanging there in the trees. A cocktail, some music, some dancing or croquet; the sun licks the glittering gown that you wear. Don't dream it, be it, at High Tea.

What else will we do? Who knows!!! It's all up to the fae energy that manifests when the UFP comes to call! But in the past, we've had:
  • bonfires
  • heart circles
  • crafts
  • saunas
  • dressing up at the Foxy Boutique
  • magick & ritual
  • trip to the market
  • swimming in the nearby mighty Mississippi
  • anything the fae heart can imagine!

Everything that manifests depends on faerie volunteer energy, and contributions to the purse. We ask that everyone contribute something to the Purse, she pays for all our food & stuff! The suggested contribution is $20 per night, more if you can or less if you can't, and no one is turned away for lack of funds.

Please note, this gathering is for gay and queer men.

If you are a member of our Facebook Group, you can RSVP to the Facebook Event. Otherwise, please email to obtain directions and contact information, or to arrange pickup in Smiths Falls (VIA rail) or Perth (Greyhound bus).

Eau Canada,

(Mark M. Orkin, "Canajan Eh?")

Canada Day, often referred to as "Canada's birthday", marks the joining of the British colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the Province of Canada (Ontario & Quebec) into the Dominion of Canada on July 1, 1867. Originally called Dominion Day, the holiday was renamed in 1982, the year the Canada Act superseded the British North America Act as the country's constitution.

There is no standard formula for Canada Day celebrations. In various communities across the country, the day is observed with parades, carnivals, festivals, barbecues, bonfires, air & maritime shows, fireworks, free musical concerts, as well as citizenship ceremonies for new citizens.

How will the Fae ones celebrate Canada's birthday?

Join the Foxy Faeries and help decide!

Who are the Foxy Faeries?

The Foxy Faeries are a kink-friendly group of Radical Faeries in northern Ontario. What does “kink-friendly” mean? Well for starters, all of the founding members are happily kinky folks. They want Foxy Faeries Gatherings to be a kink-positive, nudity-positive, sex-positive space.

But the group is new! Come join us and help define and discover who we are, and what we can become!!!

Foxy Faeries events are open to all those of fae heart, the fae-allied and the fae-curious, regardless of gender or orientation.

What Will Happen at the Gathering?

  • We yoo-hoo and we circle, we work and we play.
  • Most of us camp, but there is room for some in the Foxes Den.
  • We enjoy communal vegetarian meals.
  • There are some traditional events, like the Sunday afternoon Know Talent Show. Can you sing, dance, recite a poem or play an instrument? If so, we would love to have you join us on stage! A bit shy but want to try? Talk to the show’s organizers and they will be sure to find a suitable role for you. More of a watcher than a performer? An appreciative audience is the other essential ingredient for this popular event.
  • Others activities are more spontaneous, like:
    • saunas
    • bonfires
    • swimming & boating in the private lake
    • exploring the island
    • hikes & games
    • mud wrestling & oatmeal rubs
    • ritual, magick, meditation
    • drumming & chanting
    • story time & naps
    • spa days, face painting
    • crafts, painting, glitter workshops
    • theme parties with outrageous couture
    • concerts or karaoke
  • What activities will happen depends entirely on those who attend.
  • If we can dream it, we can be it, but only if we find the faerie energy to make it manifest.

Where Does the Gathering Take Place?

The Foxy Faeries Canada Day Gathering takes place at Fox's Haven, a beautiful campground situated on a 120 acre private property in West Nipissing, Ontario, about a 5 hour drive from Ottawa, 4 and a half hours from Toronto, 3 hours from Barrie, and an hour from Sudbury or North Bay.

Fox’s Haven includes a beautiful lake and island, is criss-crossed by numerous trails, has lovely pine and birch forests, and features beautiful granite rock outcroppings of the Canadian Shield.

The land is completely private so you can enjoy dressing up in your most stunning and fabulous clothes, or dressing down to nothing at all, without worry of outsiders. There are boats that all attendees are free to use to explore the private lake, see the water lilies, row over to the island, and maybe even get the chance to wave at the beavers as they work.

There are two permanent buildings, the Foxes Den, in which some attendees sleep, and the main cabin, which includes a full kitchen.  There are two outhouses, outdoor showers, three large campfires, and numerous trails with forty campsites.

To find out more, check out the Foxy Faeries FAQ.

Want to Attend? Here's How!

In order to attend a Foxy Faeries gathering, the first step is to register by paying a deposit in the online shop. This deposit covers the cost of renting the campground only. The deposit is $50 per person for camping, or $75 per person sleeping in the Foxes den, for the long weekend.

The address will be sent to those who have registered by paying the deposit, one week before the gathering begins.

In addition to the deposit (which only covers the rent), every attendee is asked to bring cash to help feed the Purse. She’s always hungry! The Purse covers the cost of food, propane for the portable fire ring & BBQ, fire logs for the sauna, gas for the generator and any other expenses we run into. Because we don't want finances to be a barrier to attending our events, we use an honour system, with the Purse kept in a central location in the main cabin, and ask that everyone contribute something to the purse. We suggest a $50 contribution each for the long weekend, but if you can afford more, please be generous  so that others who are able to contribute less can also attend. If you are not able to afford the suggested $50, contribute as much as you can.

Equally important is your willingness to contribute in other ways: planning, cleaning, shopping, cooking, etc. If you don't know what to do, just ask. One of the most enjoyable aspects of our created community is working on projects with your fellow Faeries.

So join us for Canada's best birthday party ever!!!

Victoria Day Gathering 2018

Victoria Day Gathering

on
the Land aka Amber Fox
May 18th - 21st, 2018

It's Vicky's birthday and some queens are celebrating!

The Victoria Day long weekend marks The Land wakening up after a long winter. Come and celebrate the glorious beginning of spring. Arrive anytime after 2pm on Friday.

Friday night Departure Lounge party, sauna opening, Saturday night will feature the Know Talent Show. And on Sunday, a Maypole rises in celebration of Beltane.  Other events maybe planned and spontaneous, the Foxy Boutique stands ready to meet all of your dress up, drag and costuming needs. And we do tend to like big glorious fire art.

All our meals are vegetarian, communal and delicious. Please let us know ahead of time of any diet restrictions and we'll try to meet them. The Erection contains a great kitchen, and we are always looking for fae ones to help plan, cook and dice stuff up for meals.

We rely on contributions to the Purse for food, fuel for the pump & lawn mowers, propane for the fridge and stove and all the other little important things that keep the land a welcoming place for all. We suggest $20 a day, more if you can, less if you can't. No one turned away due to lack of funds. Let us know you're coming to help us plan.

It may be a bit chilly, but don't worry, the Land will keep everyone warm. The Erection is heated, bonfires will make us toasty and the sauna is always steamy. Lots of tenting sites. Tenting may be cool, and some will opt for snuggling in the Bunkhouse. This is Ontario, so the weather can change, we suggest you bring clothing for wet, cool, rainy, warm and hot sunny days, warm bedding and foamy, and a tarp for your tent.

Contact us or post and we will provide directions. We can arrange to pick you up at the bus depot in Perth or the train station in Smiths Falls if you let us know ahead of time.

If you are a member of our Facebook Group, you can RSVP to the Facebook Event. Otherwise, please email to obtain directions and contact information.

F7 - More Reflections in the Ice

The Second Annual

F7 Gatherette

February 2018

This past Family Day weekend, a group of us braved the Canadian winter to attend the second annual F7 Gatherette! We held our event at Fox's Haven, halfway between Sudbury & North Bay. Whether it was playing outdoors, eating delicious food, or relaxing by the roaring fire, everyone had a wonderful time with friends!!

Uh-Oh, DeeDee's sinking in the snow!!

The Foxes Den, where most of us slept, looks out onto the snow covered landscape. What a view!!!

The setting sun reflects off the ice after a day of fun times!!

G'night everybody!!!!

This is the *BEST* way to make bagels!!!

A grey morning means it's warm enough for snowy fun!

We slid down the big hill to the dock, then all the way over to the island. Then we slid down the island hills and came all the way back over the lake! It was magical!!!

We made a snow family!

And I made a snow fort!

DeeDee played with dough ...

And then he braided it ...

And it turned into bread monsters!!!

Wow, we had some great meals!!!

Packing up to go ... we had a great time!!!

See you all next year
for the third annual F7 Gatherette,
February 15 - 18, 2019
at
Fox's Haven near Lake Nipissing

The Return of F7

F7 Gatherette
Friday February 16th to
Monday February 19th (Family Day)
at
Fox's Haven
near Lake Nipissing

Two years ago, an intrepid crew of ferocious fae braved the -40º temperatures for the first ever F7 Gatherette. And boy what a fabulous time we had! If you missed it, or if you were there and want to reminisce, you can reflect on our time in that winter wonderland.

Sadly, the venue that hosted the first F7 is no longer available, and last year we were unable to hold the event (the facilities on the Land aka Amber Fox are not winterized).

But good news! We have now found a permanent home for the F7 Gatherette, Fox's Haven, just northwest of Lake Nipissing. The new venue is a four hour drive north from Toronto, four and a half hours west from Ottawa, halfway between North Bay and Sudbury. The secluded site features 170 acres of varied terrain, including sandy areas, rocky flats, forested trails, and even a lake containing an island!!! The main cabin features a fully functioning bathroom, kitchen, and large main room for communal activities. The Fox's Den is the main sleeping cabin. And both of the main buildings are fully winterized. :)

Because this is a site we need to rent, and because of the limited indoor sleeping facilities (maximum 16 people), as we did for the previous F7, we will be using a system of pre-registration with payment guaranteeing your spot. See below for details, then hit the big red registration button at the bottom of the page.

Now, do you remember what the seven Fs in F7 are for? Well, neither do I, lol!

But this year, the seven Fs will be:
F1 = Frigid: Yep, we can pretty much guarantee it!
F2 = February: It’s when we’re going!
F3 = Family Day: Monday. An Ontario holiday.
F4 = Fabulous: Yes, we are.
F5 = Faerie: That's us folks!
F6 = Festival: Isn't it always?
   at
F7 = Fox's Haven: The new location!!!

So what is F7 all about, and why do we call it a gatherette? Well, F7 is kind of like a faerie gathering, but much smaller (maximum 16 people). And it is mostly indoors, with nobody camping, because, well y'know ... winter. But we will still have fabulous communal meals, circles and yoo-hoos. And just like any faerie gathering, the activities will reflect the desires and abilities of the fae folk who attend.

Should we decide, we can have rituals, massage chains, a Know Talent Show, saunas (there is an amazing sauna attached to the main cabin), board game sessions, snowball fights, building snow forts, tobogganing,  ... even creating an outdoor sweat lodge. The only limits are our imagination, and our warm underwear!

As usual, the meals will be vegetarian, communally-prepared, and elegant beyond imagining. The cost of food is covered in the registration fee (see below).

The main cabin and the Fox's Den are the two winterized buildings. The Fox's den sleeps ten in four double bunk beds and a double fold-out couch. The main cabin has two bedrooms, one with a bed that sleeps two, and the other with a bed that sleeps two and two single bunks. Note that these two bunks are the only single beds available, so chances are you will be sharing with someone. Please let us know who you would like to share a bed with in your registration.

We are asking attendees for $90 each for the long weekend, which is $30 per night. We think this amount will allow us to just cover our costs. Most of the registration fee is the fixed rental cost, with the large part of the remainder being food. Payment can be made by Interac e-Transfer, PayPal, or by cash in Toronto. Since we never want finances to preclude anyone from attending our events, if some of you can afford to pay more, we can then offer discounted spots to those who need it. Please let us know when you register if you can be a sponsor or need financial assistance. Thanks!

Hurry, hit the big red button to register now, as there are only sixteen spots available! Your place is guaranteed once your payment is received. Once you’re registered, you’ll be provided the address, and added to the Facebook event where we can plan things such as carpooling, meals, and activities!!

This is going to be a fantastic gatherette!
