A Very Faerie Solstice Party 2015

The aka Amber Fox gathering season has ended once again, and the Land will be cold & dark until May, when we gather together to celebrate Queen Vicky's birthday.
But fear not,
Faeries will frolic!!!

Thanks to the efforts of the indefatigable Demon Child Ryan, and to the generosity of the hosts (Paul, Dragon, LuLu, & the MudHouse gang), each month will feature a different Faerie event: parties, plays, potlucks, rituals, picnics, and even a midwinter Gatherette!

To kick off the "off season" in high gear, we are pleased to invite you all to the third annual Very Faerie Solstice Party:

A Very Faerie Solstice Party

Saturday, December 19th, 2015
8:00 pm to 2:00 am
in Toronto, Ontario

As always, the party will feature fun, fellowship, music (not to worry - we're having the piano tuned), Departure Lounge West, and the Ruby Balcony (aka Red Light District)!

Sweet & savoury snacks, coffees, teas, juice & soft drinks, and a festive holiday punch will be provided. Otherwise, it's BYOB. If you would like to contribute a vegetarian snack or dessert, you have our thanks.

So, for an evening of glitz, garlands & glamour, join your hosts Paul, DeeDee, & the Demon Child Ryan, at the infamous Vaseline Tower, in the heart of Toronto's queer village.

If you are a member of our Facebook Group, you can RSVP to the Facebook Event. Otherwise, please email if you need directions or contact information. If you live outside of Toronto and are looking for somewhere to crash, you can post a request in the Facebook Event, or contact us well in advance, and we will try to arrange overnight accommodations.

Amber Fox Does World Pride

Amber Fox Does World Pride

Friday June 27 to Sunday June 29
in Toronto, Canada

We have three events planned during the final weekend of World Pride Week in Toronto, culminating in the parade on Sunday. All the Pride events are gender and orientation inclusive. See you there!

Friday Evening:  Pot Luck at the Alien Embassy

Join us on Friday evening for a delicious vegetarian pot luck supper at the infamous Alien Embassy, just northeast of Toronto's Gay Village.  A perfect way to start off Pride weekend.

We may not be Gathering, but that won't stop the Fae folk from cooking! And we have been known to sing and dance at such events too. Who can say?

And I don't want to reveal too much, but it is said the Alien Baby may be making an appearance!

BYOB and a vegetarian dish of your choice, don your Fae apparel, and spend a relaxed evening with Faerie friends.

And as always, Gayliens are welcome.

If you are a member of our Facebook Group, you can RSVP to the Facebook Event. Otherwise, please email to get the details.

Saturday Night:  Open House at Vaseline Tower

For those of you who are too young to know, Vaseline was once the lubricant of choice for male sexual congress (you know, fucking). So it was natural that the giant phallus rising from the centre of Toronto's Queer Village should have gained the monicker "Vaseline Tower".

High above the Village, on the southeast corner of the Tower, the Garden in the Sky offers bold city vistas as well as a stunning lake view. Bathed in ruby light, amidst flowers and vines, enjoy a cocktail while you listen to the music of the street.

Join us on Saturday evening, for a short visit or a long stay.  Feel free to stop by on your way to or from the many other events being held in the area. Arrive any time after 8pm: if the red light is on, we are still partying.

Some snacks and soft drinks will be provided. There will also be a fabulous vat of sangria, otherwise BYOB.

If you are a member of our Facebook Group, you can RSVP to the Facebook Event. Otherwise, please email to get the address.

Sunday Afternoon:  Everybody Loves a Parade

The Radical Faeries were a regular feature of Toronto Pride back in the '80s, carrying parasols and riding rickety oversized tricycles.  Back then the Pride Parade was inherently political, and the queers who marched were as likely to encounter jeers as cheers.

Nowadays, Pride is a very different entity, and for many Radical Faeries holds little interest. Over the years, Faeries have drifted away from the parade and are now rarely seen at Toronto Pride. In fact, for the past several years, many of us have chosen to gather on the Land during the Canada Day / Toronto Pride weekend.

However, in honour of World Pride being held in Toronto this year, we decided to return to our roots and march in the parade. Sadly, the tricycles and parasols have been lost in the mists of time, however we will bring our own unique brand of Fae.

In keeping with this year's Pride theme "Rise Up" our float will feature both an alien spacecraft and the Alien Baby itself! Marchers are encouraged to dress in full Faerie diversity.

If you are planning to be in the parade, please read the 2014 Rules of Parade Entry (ROPEs) and the 2014 Terms and Conditions. You've been told!

Those marching should meet us outside the Alien Embassy before 12:30. Or, you can meet us at the Marcher Check-In Area on Bloor Street East at 1pm (enter via Ted Rogers Way and do not arrive early). We will be in Marcher Staging Section G.

So come march, mosey, sashay or flutter with us: everybody loves a parade!

A Very Faerie Solstice Party Postscript

The Alien Baby was feeling a bit deflated this morning, but one last macaron was enough to restore his blood sugar and his good humour, if not his turgor.

Last night, just after midnight, we listened to our holy hymn, (sung by Karen our Mother, we must eat like her), the Alien Baby appeared to our eyes (in quicksilver finery no less) and we sent our thoughts into AB who relayed them through the aether and across the miles to Shimmer and Pretty Urban & Gwo(t) and Queen Bee and Matteo and Jeffrey and Claude and Tucker and Christian and Dragon and Ken and all the far flung fae we love! Then we sang a few rousing choruses of We All Come From the Space Ship. Message received.

Wasn't That a Party?

Oh, the music, the singing, the clarinet, and the piano. As always Chip and Ryan delighted our ears and eyes, and this night they were joined by the newly-returned Bruce! All three were received with applause and hisses (which is a good thing, trust me).

Wasn't That a Party?

Twenty-four fabulous fae ones braved the wind and the sleet and made their way to the Tower of Vaseline for A Very Faerie Solstice Party. Old fae, new fae, sparkly fae, nude fae!

Oh. Wait. I forgot. The Incident.

There was a twenty-fifth guest who barged her brassy way past security. That diva-bitch goddess-whore ChiChi herself deigned to put in an appearance. Don't worry, no bones were broken nor virgins deflowered. This time, we got lucky.

Wasn't That a Party?

The winner of the Wine Away Your Troubles gift basket, by Peaches, was none other than our very own Ryan the Spirit of Christmas Past!

Yeah, seems fishy to me too, but what can a fae boy do?

Wasn't That a Party?

And the winner of the Sumptuous Sweets Gift Boxes from Bobbette & Belle Artisanal Pastries was Brian Blue-Eyes, seen here modelling his exquisite powder blue sash, signifying his unofficial status as the new Miss Bobbette & Belle.

Alien Crash!

A small escape pod has crashed in Departure Lounge West.
The pilot, a large-eyed green-skinned humanoid,
appears to have suffered a severe deflation injury.
Am attempting resuscitation.

Hope he is better in time for A Very Faerie Solstice Party!
